Download screens got refreshed!

December 29, 2022 by Piotrek

In some cases, LemonInk displays what we call "download pages". These are the screens that customers see when their files are not yet ready for download, when they no longer have access to the files, and in a few more situations.

Usually, the files are ready by the time customers first attempt to download them, so most of them never see the pages. But for those who do, we always wanted to not introduce anything new from the customers' perspective. After all, arriving at something called "LemonInk" that's flashing its logo and bright colors after placing a book order would be, say the least, quite confusing.

For those reasons, we've made these pages look very, very simple. White background, basic black font, and an absolute minimum of styles just to align things and make them visible. This has worked quite well for several years, but it was time to make some changes.

The direct reason for making the changes was that we've added an "order" page — a page where several files are available for download. This page came to life with our Shopify integration and, in contrast to the previous download pages, it's visible for all customers using our Shopify integration.

Hopefully, we've managed to stay true to the idea of being unobtrusive and transparent to the customer attempting to grab the newly bought books but still upgrade things a bit. Here are some screenshots (let us know what you think!):
